A creek winds down the mountainside and through the forest while the midmorning sun illuminates the scene as it peeks over the treeline in Montana's Glacier National Park.

This photo was taken on the Avalanche trail hike in late summer, early fall. This trail takes you through a forest populated with massive and ancient trees, towering above you. Winding your way through the forest eventually brings you to the uphill path to begin a trek up the mountainside. The river follows along your left side for most of the journey, and you can hear it babble its peaceful lullaby throughout. Finally, the journey ends at Avalanche lake, a respite nestled in between the mountains with waterfalls cascading on all sides into the reservoir from which the stream flows.

The photo is shot on a full frame Nikon D750 with a Tamron ultra-wide lens.

This is a separate version of "Creek in the Forest" desaturated for a slightly different taste.

I've always had a great affinity for hiking, camping, and travel in general and this has naturally led me to become a landscape photographer. I like to reflect on my life in two manners; on the one hand, as a current engineering PhD candidate at Texas A&M, I am striving to better the environment and leave the world better off for future generations to enjoy its beauty. On the other hand, I actively look to capture that beauty to the best of my ability as a photographer. As busy as I am with studies, I pour my heart and soul into every image I create and will only upload what I feel reflects the true beauty of the world.
